As the creator of both Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, Masamune Shirow is perhaps one of the most internationally well-known artists from Japan. In later years he has curiously transitioned from Manga to softcore pornographic illustrations.The "Galgrease" series in particular is the more pornographic side of Shirow. These series of illustrations were published in a magazine with posters and phone cards.
